For 12 long years I’ve revered Zelda: Ocarina of Time. A flawless game, something that made you appreciate the medium as a whole, so full of little details which together brought (almost) perfection.
I’ve spent many hours thinking what was what made Ocarina of Time. I could never nail it down, but I always came to the same conclusion: it was the experience as a whole, everything coming together in a way that was almost magical.
The Nintendo 3DS is slowly gaining traction, mainly because Nintendo has made a tremendous effort to give us the best games this fall.
But with so many heavy hitters, which are the ones that you should really buy?
5. Need for Speed: The Run 3D
Need for Speed has always been a respected franchise, and for good reasons: featuring an incredible sense of velocity and thrilling car chases, NFS always delivered. At least until the last iteration which definitely didn’t meet expectations.
Few names evoke as much badassery as “Star Fox” in the Nintendo world. We’ve been waiting for a good Star Fox game for almost a decade now so it was no surprise that Nintendo decided to make yet another remake for the (still game-starving) Nintendo 3DS.
But is it as good as we remember it?
Graphics have definitely been vastly improved from the original Nintendo 64 game. Gone are the jagged edges, the blurriness and the general polygonal “squareness”, now everything is much more sharp and the frame rate is extremely solid. In other words, the game looks gorgeous.
